Iran To Respond By Mid-August To Offer

I"m gonna jump right in here and pre-empt this. I expect many bloggers are going to attack this info. At first blush, it looks suspicious. Is Iran stalling so they can enrich uranium further? Are they buying time?
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday his country will respond in mid-August to the package of incentives on its nuclear program offered by the West. "We are studying the proposals. Hopefully, we will present our views about the package by mid-August," Ahmadinejad told a crowd in western Iran in a speech broadcast live on state television.

The offer, presented by European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana during a June 6 visit, provides a range of incentives for Iran to impose a moratorium on uranium enrichment, a process that can produce material for nuclear generators or for weapons.

Anyone who's worked in a big corporation knows 9 weeks is the equivalent of a couple hours for a personal decision by you or I at home. June 6 to mid-August is a reasonable length of time for a government to respond to something of this magnitude. Just saying.

Sorry. Forgot the link.
