Creationist Creep. Or Should That Be Creeps?

It ain't just happening in the US. From the Telegraph.co.uk.
Almost 60 schools are defying Government warnings by teaching the Biblical story of creation in science lessons, it has been claimed today.

Up to 5,000 secondary schools across the UK have been sent teaching materials by a group of Christian academics promoting creationism and its more recent off-shoot intelligent design in GCSE and A-level science.

The group - Truth in Science - believe pupils should be allowed to debate Darwin’s theory of evolution by considering the alternative view that the world was created by God in six days.

It has already been condemned by the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of science, which said earlier this year that creationism represented a move to “distort or misrepresent scientific knowledge and understanding in order to promote particular religious beliefs”.

Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, also said it should not be taught in science.

And people are fearing the Islamists? So much for the Renaissance.
