Majority Or Not, Bush Is Gonna Keep Ruining US

This post from MyDD drives home a point I've made before (one example). Bush is doing harm we don't see and it will take many years to correct.

This article brings up a very important and cautionary point. George W. Bush is a lame duck. If the results of November 7 did not cement this, the near constant chatter about the 2008 presidential election will. But -- and here's the big but -- both George W. Bush and his administration still have a great capacity to do harm to the country. Corruption -- the institutionalized corruption for which the President and his staff are so strenuously fighting -- threatens to not only be a burden today but also a stealth tax in the years to come as Americans are forced to pay back, with interest, every cent borrowed to pay for these under-examined and oversized crony contracts. And government corruption is far from the only area President Bush can affect over his last two years in office. From his unwillingness to embrace the need for change in Iraq to his continued control over the veto stamp, George W. Bush can still move America backwards to appease his corporatist and ultra-Right supporters.
