Must read IMHO

I have no idea if all this is true, but CE Petro is usually spot on.
She's abused, but they still focus on her abuser from a pastoral viewpoint. And guess what, when a beaten-down woman says that "her husband did "nothing" for which he deserved to die," after hearing of the physical, emotional and sexual abuses perpetrated by dear hubby, this is the classic sign of a battered woman.

Spiidey, thanks for the linky goodness. The belt buckle of Jesusland is still in denial that a pastor would abuse his wife, apparently, as I'm still trying to counter myths of domestic abuse, in coments on a few blogs -- like she could have just left. I personally was not in that dark place Mary Winkler was, but I know several women that have been. Thus I can, from time to time, spot the "signs," and more importantly, I have been a "trusted source" for two different friends that turned to me for help.
