Giant Sea Scorpion
Yeah, a scorpion. I tend to pick up on scorpion and spider posts/news stories.
I post this only because I used to have seven black scorpions, am a Scorpio, the spider thing is obvious.
In fact I just recently celebrated my Scorpio birthday which is another post entirely.
European scientists have discovered a 390-million-year-old fossilized claw of giant sea scorpion.
Another story says scientists have discover a "human size" scorpion fossil.
I'm sorry, but very few of us are eight feet tall. None of us?
The immense fossilised claw of a 2.5m-long (8ft) sea scorpion has been described by European researchers.
Oh well, we'll accept literary license.
Two observations. My scorpions never stung me. They were teh shy. Same with my pirañas which swam away and never bit.

Happy Birthday from a fellow scorpion (11/12).
I fancy we can be among the more intense and convoluted thinkers of the zodiac, but then, I look to my rural cousins to the South, East, West and North of me, and think there must be scorpions among them, and these people are not deep thinkers. Then, I become humbled.
Sometimes we are humbled by sources we would never suspect.
True!
found one just like this in my bath yesterday, came across your blog whilst looking for a photo. wanted to say thanks for the photo and it's a great blog you're writing ...
