Carter's Middle East visit irks Bush aides

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday that former President Jimmy Carter's recent talks with the Palestinian group Hamas had not been helpful, and she disputed Carter's claim that no one in the government had tried to dissuade him from his mission.

The actual focus of this story isn't really news. By now everyone knows Carter pissed off the administration and Rice claims she tried to stop his visiting with Hamas.

Nope. My focus is: Who ya gonna believe? A known liar like Rice or a straight arrow like Jimmy?
