Aftershocks crumble Chinese homes

Additional aftershocks have caused more than 420,000 houses to collapse in China's earthquake-hit Sichuan province.

The aftershocks on Tuesday afternoon reached a 5.4 magnitude, state media said.

At least 63 people were injured, six critically, in the shocks in Qingchuan in the southwestern province.

A shock of 5.7 magnitude also hit neighbouring Ningqiang county in Shaanxi province, with no fatalities reported.

Aftershocks have heightened the anxiety of citizens in the regions which have suffered more than 67,000 deaths due to a May 12 earthquake - with 20,000 people still missing.

The initial 7.9 magnitude quake also injured at least 362,000 people.

At least six people were killed by an aftershock in Sichuan on Sunday.

An earthquake of the magnitude of these aftershocks would scare the bejesus out of most people around the world and these people are experiencing them after an enormous quake. They may never want to live in a building again.
