Spokesman: Bobby Fischer Has Died

Will there ever be another like Bobby? I seriously doubt it.

Bobby Fischer, the reclusive American chess master who became a Cold War icon when he dethroned the Soviet Union's Boris Spassky as world champion in 1972, has died. He was 64.

Fischer died Thursday in a Reykjavik hospital, his spokesman, Gardar Sverrisson, said. There was no immediate word on the cause of death.

Born in Chicago and raised in Brooklyn, Robert James Fischer was a U.S. chess champion at 14 and a grand master at 15. He beat Spassky in a series of games in Reykjavik to claim America's first world chess championship in more than a century.

Some people are just too unique to be duplicated.

Someone once told me they had nick named me "Dr Death" because I wore nothing which wasn't black.

I suppose it was appropriate. I've had an iguana, tarantulas, scorpions, piranha, hamsters, Boston fern, ficus tree, bull calf, pigeons, chickens, geese. All dead. No hint something was wrong. They just died.

OK, I killed the calf. Mighty tasty too.

Thankfully my children survived.

I've no clue why I'm posting this, but its part of the fun of the internets tubes.

Sometimes Bush is intelligent. Not often, but it does happen. This is so obvious even he can see it.

The Bush administration has warned that the current troop buildup in and around Baghdad will result in more U.S. casualties as American troops increasingly come into contact with enemy forces.

Let's just take a look. More targets mean more casualties? Doesn't take a Norman Einstein¹ to predict that.
