Why exactly does Ahmadinejad find it necessary to piss everyone off every week or so? Is it internal PR or what? Is it the fucking banty rooster syndrome? Is he just totally bonkers? For some reason I think he's far too intelligent to not realize he's painting a target on his chest.

Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi opened two new missile production plants on Saturday, just three days after Iran fired a rocket carrying live animals into space, state television reported.

Ya know my problem is I'm relatively sane (sort of). Which means I can't possibly think of all the manipulative reasons for anything political. Who is the audience? Is the audience the US, Iranians, Venezuela, the Supreme Leader, Israel? Is it saber rattling or serious? Is an action that appears military merely a ploy to get a favorable oil sale agreement? Is Ahmadinejad on drugs? Does he have extras? Does Ahmadinejad have a small penis? Is he really trying to provoke a war?

Iran: 3,000 centrifuges fully working

That idiot Ahmadinejad just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.

He might as well just ask Bush or Israel to attack.

Iran has achieved a landmark with 3,000 centrifuges fully working in its controversial uranium enrichment program, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday.

Ahmadinejad has in the past claimed Iran succeeded in installing the 3,000 centrifuges at its uranium enrichment facility at Natanz. Wednesday's claim was his first official statement that the plant is now fully operating the 3,000 centrifuges.

An Iranian University Invites Bush to Speak

Uh, I don't think I'd waste ink printing up the fliers just yet. Bush won't face Americans under those conditions.

After the controversial appearance of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at Columbia University last week, an Iranian university yesterday invited President Bush to travel to Iran and speak on campus about a range of issues, including the Holocaust, terrorism, human rights and U.S. foreign policy, the Fars News Agency reported yesterday.

The invitation from Ferdowsi University in the northeastern city of Mashhad asked Bush to answer questions from students and professors "just the same way" that Ahmadinejad took questions "despite all the insults directed at him."

If he were to go, I would suffer the bandwidth and snail paced PC I have to see the video.

And Bush doesn't care because he's on a mission from God. Besides, Iran's missiles won't be used against the US or Israel who will aim its missiles at Iran and probably Syria. It isn't like the US is going to be bombarded. That is the US itself won't be bombarded, but US interests in the Mid-East certainly will.

That last paragraph can be found in the Encyclopedia Britannica next to the term "chicken shit". Nah, it can't, but should be.

So what's a lot more bloodshed? Bush'll be safe in Crawford and, when he's there, in the White House.

Iran has threatened to retaliate with missile attacks if Western forces launch raids against the Islamic state's nuclear programme — putting on a defiant show of military force to back up the message.

The Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressed a military parade in Teheran and mocked threats from the United States, while the head of the Revolutionary Guards said Iran would "pull the trigger" if attacked.

Their bellicose intervention came as officials in Washington warned that time was running out for the secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, to "get a result" from diplomacy or hand the initiative to White House hawks who want military action.

Iran is running 3,000 atomic centrifuges

Here's what we have. The Mid-East, if not the world, is screwed because the US is run by an idiot and so is Iran.

What in the hell is ahmadinejad doing? Is he strutting to gain support in Iran while pissing off the guy who already has nukes? Or is he trying to provoke Bush? Perhaps a death wish?

I'm at a loss here.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday Iran had met a planned target of installing and running 3,000 atomic centrifuges used in enriching uranium, Iranian news agencies reported.

Iran had said it aimed to have that many centrifuges, which are set up in interlinked networks or "cascades" of 164 machines each, by the end of July. Diplomats in Vienna have said Iran appeared to have fewer than the target of 3,000 operating.

The diplomats have also said Iran's nuclear work appeared to have slowed down during the summer, possibly due to technical glitches or for fear of spurring world powers to pass a third U.N. sanctions resolution. Iran has denied any slowdown.

"We have more than 3,000 centrifuges working and every week a new set is installed," the president was quoted as saying.

U.S. Congress: saying "eliminated from the pages of history" is genocide

In my opinion, Alice Through the Looking Glass had it easy. The world's gone completely bat shit crazy and I just can't cope.

A few days ago, ever vigilant to show its obeisance to Israel, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to urge the United Nations to charge Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with genocide because of his statement that Israel will be "eliminated from the pages of history," naturally claimed by Congress to have been a call "for the destruction of the State of Israel." This despite Ahmadinejad's very clear statement that the "wiping out" he was referring to is precisely the kind of "wiping out" that happened to the Soviet Union, and has nothing to do with "a fight between Judaism and other religions."

Only two members of the House voted against the resolution, Republican Ron Paul and Democrat Dennis Kucinich. A handful of others voted "present" or didn't vote. All the rest voted for this absurd resolution.

The world dodged another bullet. And once again, Ahmadinejad has proven he does what he says he will.

Fifteen British sailors freed by Iran were flying home to London on Thursday, jubilant and relieved at the dramatic end to their two-week ordeal that had triggered a tense international standoff.

The sailors and marines left Tehran on a British Airways flight 14 days after they were seized by Iranian forces in the northern Gulf accused of violating Iranian territorial waters.

Their departure wraps up a rapid succession of events that began when President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday abruptly deflated the escalating diplomatic crisis by pardoning them as a "gift" to the British people.

"I was so happy that I was not able to sleep all night," said one of the commanders, Felix Carman, quoted on Iranian state television.
