Putz.

Jill uses the headline "Putz" because she's more mature and refined than I.

Asshole fits nicely.
But there is another Mrs McCain who casts a ghostly shadow over the Senator’s presidential campaign. She is seldom seen and rarely written about, despite being mother to McCain’s three eldest children.

I'm no fucking saint by any stretch of the imagination.

I was married for many years to a wonderful woman who found it impossible to live with me. Go figure.

That woman stood by me, helped me through university and mothered my three sons. I would never write her off. Anyone who abandons his wife for whatever reason is an asshole.

John McCain's temper

Might John McCain's temper jeopardize the US and the world as some are wondering?
The legitimate issue, of course, is, would his judgment as commander in chief be clouded by fury at a key time?

That seems to me a logical question to ask considering he would have that damned (nuclear) button he could push.

Temper? What the fuck are you talking about?

According to Cindy McCain, her husband doesn't have a temper. She was a little more polite about commenting on the subject and didn't resort to profanity which I can't avoid.
Cindy McCain on Monday beat back accusations her husband is known to have a bad temper, saying it’s often mistaken for his passion for the issues.

“He is passionate about the future of this country,” Mrs. McCain, wife of presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain , said while serving as a co-host on ABC’s “The View.” “Some people mistake that for temper.” Mrs. McCain also insisted the issue is one of the biggest misconceptions people have of her husband.

Ah, but Cindy is calling John a liar.
[John] McCain himself noted in a 2002 memoir (written after his 2000 presidential race) that, "I have a temper, to state the obvious, which I have tried to control with varying degrees of success because it does not always serve my interest or the public's." [emphasis mine].

So who's in favor of replacing a petulant child who always wants to have things his way with a hot head who always wants to have things his way? Don't all raise your hands at once. Thank you.

McCain: I'm a Baptist

I'm gonna do something quite rare for me. I'm gonna be impartial and fair.

Muahahaha.

Are all politicians lairs, panderers, assholes?

In this age of internets tubes, YouTubes, and such, do they really think we don't know what they have said in the past?

Jesus H Christ with chickenpox, you're history here. We can dredge up your words you stupid twit.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who has long identified himself as an Episcopalian, said this weekend that he is a Baptist and has been for years.

Campaigning in this conservative, predominantly Baptist state, McCain called himself a Baptist when speaking to reporters Sunday and noted that he and his family have been members of the North Phoenix Baptist Church in his home state of Arizona for more than 15 years.

"It's well known because I'm an active member of the church," the Arizona senator said.

While McCain has long talked about his family's and his own attendance at the Arizona church, he appears to have consistently referred to himself as Episcopalian in media reports.

In a June interview with McClatchy Newspapers, the senator said his wife and two of their children have been baptized in the Arizona Baptist church, but he had not. "I didn't find it necessary to do so for my spiritual needs," he said.

He told McClatchy he found the Baptist church more fulfilling than the Episcopalian church, but still referred to himself as an Episcopalian.

Its McCain now, but the fucking Democrats are no better.

See? Impartial.

McCain Says he Would Have Gone Into Baghdad Market Without Escort

Go back John. Prove it.
Sen. John McCain said Monday he would have taken his tour of an Iraqi market last week even if he hadn’t been accompanied by heavily armed U.S. soldiers.

The Republican presidential hopeful said he would have walked through the Bab al-Sharqi market in Baghdad without the military protection, but the top U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, had recommended the armed escort.

“I’m not notorious for being nervous about going anywhere,” said McCain, R-Ariz. “I’ll gladly go almost anywhere in the world, under any circumstances, but I did respond and do what General Petraeus asked me to do.”

McCain in Iraq

It would seem to me that a former service man would realize a decent sniper could easily kill him with his vest's being worn so low. What were he and the soldiers around him thinking?

That vest should be clear up to his throat. Worn the way it shows in the photo it provides minimal protection, especially from someone firing downward from a roof top.

With all the security around him, the sniper undoubtedly would be killed, but they are suicidal fighters...remember?

McCain's "Truth in Advertising Express"

Sorry, but that should be the “Straight Talk" express”. My bad.

Behold a reporter acting like a reporter. Is there some way we can get the NYT's Adam Nagourney to follow all the candidates for a while?
Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “You’ve stumped me.”

Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it probably does help stop it?”

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”[emphasis mine]

What the fuck is that? He thinks he used to know what he thought about the subject, but doesn't think he knows what he thinks now? Talk about unbelievable conviction.

Ah, but there's more.

"Uh, sorry. I'll have to get back to you. I think I jotted my thoughts on a Post-it® Note or a napkin somewhere. Just have to find the fucking thing. But trust me. I do have a position. I just don't remember what it is. Is it just me or it getting damn hot inside this bus?"

Ya wanna let this guy lead you with his unwavering authority? Just asking.
